How many people catch the tube daily?

I was thinking about TubeLife.org today and wondered how many people travel on the tube everyday to warrant a site on stories, vents etc about the London Tube. So I looked it up.

2.7 million people EVERYDAY travel on the Tube. Damn that is alot.
